Feng Shui - Command/Power Position

Command position, aka power position, is probably one of the most important concepts in feng shui. It is the spot in a room that is furthest from the door and not in direct line with it. It puts you diagonal to the door. And ideally, you should have a clear line of sight to the door. The commanding position is where you want to spend most of your time in a room. Some of the basic rules of feng shui suggest you determine this dominant position in the room and then place your bed, your desk, or your stove in diagonal alignment if possible. These three parts of your house are critical because each represents an essential part of your life. The bed stands for you, the desk is an extension of your career, and the stove represents your wealth and nourishment.

Your bed's headboard, the number one support in the circulation of chi in your bedroom, should be up against the wall.

In the perspective of Feng Shui, the stove is the representation of the female owner of the house. If negative vibes are created due to the stove position, it will have a greater impact on the female owner. The elements of Fire (Stove) and water (Sink/Fridge) clash with each other so the placement of the stove and sink should be in such a manner that they are not positioned next to each other .

The rule in a feng shui office is that you want to be facing the door (but not directly across from the door). Ideally, you want a solid wall behind you and a view out the window, if there is one.

It's nice to see this in diagram form. Instinctively, I've always positioned my bed headboard and direction so that I can see the door, as a protective measure. I also can relate to the office set up, which has been a personal struggle of mine. I've been trying to create an office and I already felt like the desk was in the wrong position as I thought that I also needed to be able to view the door and instead my desk is backed up against the wall and my back would be to whomever is walking in. I'll work on that some more because I'm trying to make a room function in two ways, both an office and a work out room, but now I see that's not likely to work and I need to rethink it.

Thank you so much for adding the visuals. So helpful to be able to see how to Feng Shui my life and home and feel positive vibes from each room.

I like the diagrams! Having it mapped out in such a way makes it much more easy to follow and and implement if needed.

It is nice to see the diagrams and mapping. The visual perspective of how to create Feng Shui in your environment is really helpful.

I've got to keep this in mind when I make structures in video games, such as when I'm designing something in the Sims, Valheim, Minecraft, etc.
